Musco Support Freddie Flintoff's Testimonial at Old Trafford
|
Musco Lighting are thrilled to have been invited to sponsor Freddie Flintoff's testimonial match.
England will return to Old Trafford, scene of their 2nd power Test victory over Pakistan - for a
major charity match on August 24 (6.30pm). The match will be played under Musco's unique
mobile lighting rigs and will help raise funds for a number of charities, including Leukaemia Research
and Kirsty's Appeal.
Stars like Andrew Strauss, Steve Harmison, Alastair Cook, Paul Collingwood, and Ian Bell will represent
England along with the new national heroes, Monty Panesar and Lancashire's own Sajid Mahmood.
While Freddie's ankle problem prevents him from playing, he will be seen and heard all through the
game. After walking onto the pitch to acknowledge his fans at the start of the match, he will then try his
hand at some commentary on the PA system.
England will take on a strong Lancashire side in this crowd-pulling 20 game with Mark Chilton's
side using it as a warm-up for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy final at Lord's two days later.
To add to the fun, two former Lancashire captains Jack Bond and David Lloyd who both tasted
Lord's glory in the 1970s will umpire the match.
Freddie said: I'm sure that the Old Trafford crowd will give the England lads a big welcome. They
have been magnificent in beating Pakistan and I'm proud that they have agreed to take part in this match.
It should be a great night.
